Man City star under investigation by Police for dangerous and stupid stunt

Image
He might be the best striker in the world at the moment as his 28 goals from 26 games (per BBC) would attest, but it seems that Man City’s Erling Haaland hasn’t got the brains he was born with. The striker evidently seems to think he’s one of those people who, because of their inflated status and potential riches, believe that rules don’t apply to them. How else do you explain why Haaland was caught on his mobile phone whilst driving his Rolls Royce. The Sun  report that Greater Manchester Police will now be launching an investigation into this practice. Given the amount of advice around regarding how easy it is to lose focus whilst driving if you’re paying attention to your mobile, there really is no excuse for Haaland to be so blasé about the rules of the road. It will be interesting to see how much Pep Guardiola frowns upon such acts too. It’s something that not only brings embarrassment upon Haaland himself, but also on his club. As one of the finest players of his ...

Real Madrid may try to sign Liverpool superstar in the summer window

Image
Real Madrid could move for Mohamed Salah this summer with the Egyptian one of a few attacking names on the club’s shortlist. This comes from Real-focused outlet Defensa Central who say that Salah is a main target of the club as they look to strengthen their forward area DC report that Harry Kane and Victor Osimhen are the other names on  Los Blancos ‘ shortlist, the pair likely to find themselves heavily linked to a host of other clubs this summer. Salah has 22 goals and 11 assists in all competitions this season in what many have considered a “down year” for the Egyptian, who according to DC, “ dreams of joining ” Real Madrid. Karim Benzema and Vinicius Jr. are Real’s top scorers (in all comps.) this season, with 22 and 19 goals respectively, so adding Salah to their right side would no doubt scare the life out of any of their opponents. Salah has a contract with Liverpool until 2025 worth £350,000 p/week, so Real may have to stump up the cash if they wa...

Liverpool are frontrunners to sign potential €100m transfer target

Image
Liverpool are reportedly confident of winning the race for the transfer of highly-rated young Benfica centre-back Antonio Silva this summer. The Reds are named alongside Manchester United, Real Madrid and others as suitors for Silva in a report from Todo Fichajes, who suggest that he won’t be sold unless his €100million buy-out clause fee is met. Silva looks a terrific prospect and could be ideal to help Liverpool as they look for a long-term successor to Virgil van Dijk, though it remains to be seen if they will definitely emerge as the strongest candidate for his signature. It’s been a difficult season for Jurgen Klopp’s side and they might not be able to offer Champions League football next season, which would surely deal a major blow to their chances if Man Utd finish above them as expected. The Red Devils may look a more attractive project right now as Erik ten Hag starts to re-shape the team, though Todo Fichajes state that LFC are still confident about Silva. The 19-y...

Image
Jurgen Klopp is interested in bringing Eintracht Frankfurt star Evan Ndicka to Liverpool this summer as the centre-back ticks all the boxes for the German coach. The 23-year-old will become a free agent at the end of the season and that has alerted a host of top European clubs to his situation. According to the Mirror, Liverpool have followed the defender since he emerged as a teenager with Auxerre and will now try to bring him to Anfield in the summer. Arsenal and Tottenham are also monitoring Ndicka’s situation but the interest in the Frankfurt star does not stop there. According to  Mundo Deportivo , Barcelona are very interested in Ndicka as well as PSG, Real Betis, Seville, Juventus, AC Milan and Inter Milan. Liverpool are set for a bit of a rebuild ahead of next season and a new centre-back is one of Jurgen Klopp’s priorities along with midfield reinforcements. The report states that Ndicka ticks all the boxes as far as Liverpool are concerned ...

Liverpool eyeing transfer of midfielder who could now be allowed to leave

Image
Liverpool are reportedly eyeing up the potential transfer of Inter Milan midfielder Marcelo Brozovic, whose situation at the San Siro has changed this season. While the Croatia international was previously regarded as too important to let go, it now seems Hakan Calhanoglu has taken his place in the starting line up, which could mean he’s more easily available for transfer suitors this summer. Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has made Brozovic one of his targets, according to FC Inter News, with the Reds in need of strengthening after a difficult season. Jordan Henderson, Fabinho and Thiago Alcantara are ageing and past their best, so there could be room for Brozovic to come in and give them something different in that area of the pitch. It’s encouraging news for LFC that Brozovic now looks a realistic target, but some fans might also be hoping for a more glamorous name like Jude Bellingham. Brozovic could complement a bigger name in midfield, but he probably wouldn’t be enough...

The Manchester club are one of several clubs looking to sign the Croatia international this summer, alongside Liverpool, Man United and Real Madrid, reports Football Insider. Speaking to Net HR, Gvardiol has said about Guardiola via Fabrizio Romano: “I congratulated Pep Guardiola — he threw a few words at me. But I will keep them to myself.” When asked about his future in Germany, the defender responded with: “My future? RB Leipzig is not interested in selling me this summer, there is no point in talking about anything else”. According to The Times, Gvardiol has a £97m release clause in his contract which activates in 2024 and that deal expires in the summer of 2027. Therefore, this summer, the Bundesliga club could ask for over £100m for the 21-year-old. The Croatia star is on course to becoming the wor...

Man City release Phil Foden statement after Jude Bellingham and Liverpool frenzy

Image
Manchester City have been dealt another injury blow ahead of the clash with Liverpool next weekend. The  Reds   take on Man City in their first  Premier League  fixture after the international break.  Jurgen Klopp ’s side travel to the Etihad Stadium next Saturday in the lunchtime kick-off. Liverpool are currently battling to achieve a top four finish, but are seven points adrift of fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur. But the Reds do have two games in hand on the London club.   Ahead of the big match, Liverpool’s opponents appear to be sweating on the fitness of some of their key players. Foden underwent surgery on Sunday, and will now miss Man City’s clash against Liverpool. He joins Erling Haaland, who has also suffered a fitness blow over the international break. The striker was withdrawn from the Norway squad at the start of the week, which has cast doubt over his fitness for the clash against Liverpool. Man City will likely assess the injury of Haaland in...

Jurgen Klopp 'pushing' Liverpool to sign defender wanted by Real Madrid and Manchester United

Image
Liverpool continue to be linked with a move for RB Leipzig defender Josko Gvardiol. The Reds have been credited with an interest in signing the Croatia international since his performances for his country at the World Cup. That form has also seen Gvardiol linked with some of Europe’s biggest clubs, as well as Liverpool. Manchester United, Man City and Real Madrid have both been linked with Gvardiol alongside Liverpool. And now a fresh report has provided an update on the future of the centre-back. According to  Football Insider , Liverpool are “in the running” to sign Gvardiol this summer. It has also been reported that Klopp is pushing” the club to invest in signing Gvardiol at the end of the season The report goes further to say that Gvardiol is viewed as an ideal defensive partner for Virgil van Dijk. However, it has not been reported how much Liverpool would need to pay to sign the centre-back this summer. Liverpool currently have Van Dijk, Ibrahima K...

Liverpool in the race for £97m+ star who Jurgen Klopp is pushing for ahead of next season

Image
Liverpool are in the market for a new centre-back this summer and Jurgen Klopp is said to be pushing for RB Leipzig’s Josko Gvardiol. The Croatia defender is one of Europe’s most sought-after defenders following his impact at Leipzig and two very impressive campaigns at the World Cup and EURO 2020. According to The Times, the 21-year-old has a £97m release clause in his contract which activates in 2024 and that deal expires in the summer of 2027. Therefore, this summer could see the Bundesliga club ask for over £100m for the young defender. Football Insider reports that Liverpool are in the running to sign Gvardiol but it is hard to see that happening if the Reds want Jude Bellingham as well. The report states that Jurgen Klopp is pushing the Liverpool board to invest heavily this summer and the German coach wants Gvardiol as the Reds are expected to let one of their current defensive stars go in the summer. The Merseyside club will face competition from Man U...

Liverpool could launch £150m+ double raid for duo who’ve downed Klopp’s side this season

Image
Liverpool could be eyeing a double raid on one of their Premier League rivals, according to reports from Italy. Calciomercato have claimed that the Reds ‘have a double objective’ for Brighton midfield duo Alexis Mac Allister and Moises Caicedo, with the former also said to be attracting the interest of Manchester City. The report states that the Argentine World Cup winner would command a fee of at least €75m (£66.1m), while his fellow South American had been the subject of an unsuccessful attempt at a transfer from Jurgen Klopp in January, when he reportedly had a gargantuan £90m price tag (as per Daily Express). If Liverpool were to go in for both Seagulls players in the summer for those fees, they could be looking at spending more than £150m on the pair. The Reds will be patently aware of the qualities Mac Allister and Caicedo could bring to their midfield, with the duo having played their part in some impressive results for Brighton against the Merseysiders this term...

Liverpool in the race for Barcelona target and it is a signing that makes a good call

Image
Liverpool are being linked with a move for Eintracht Frankfurt defender Evan Ndicka ahead of the summer window as the 23-year-old will be available on a free transfer.   The Reds are said to be in the market for another centre-back as one of their current group is expected to leave in the summer. The signing of Ndicka makes a lot of sense for Jurgen Klopp as he would be getting a quality player for free and that will help save some cash for Liverpool’s hunt for Jude Bellingham. The Frankfurt defender has made it known to his club he will not be signing an extension as many clubs are monitoring his situation. According to  Mundo Deportivo , Barcelona are very interested in Ndicka but the problem for them is the competition as PSG, Real Betis, Seville, Juventus, AC Milan, Inter Milan and Liverpool have all positioned themselves to sign the defender. The report says that Barcelona have been monitoring Ndicka’s situation for some time and the 23-year-old is a p...

Possible heir:Liverpool to appoint 43-year-old to replace Klopp

Image
There’s no suggestion that, despite a poor season by their recent standards, Liverpool’s board are seeking to dispense with Jurgen Klopp’s services. However, there will come a time which may be sooner rather than later, when the German is either relieved of his duties or decides to move on of his own accord, and former Premier League star, Paolo di Canio, believes he knows just the right person to replace Klopp in the Reds dugout. What’s more, the Italian’s choice of replacement has a playing style that has been described as ‘unique’ by Gareth Southgate: It’s clear that Brighton and Hove Albion coach, Roberto De Zerbi has something special about him. Following in the footsteps of Graham Potter was never going to be the easiest job, however, De Zerbi has managed it with aplomb. Indeed, at the time of writing, Potter’s Chelsea are in 10th with 38 points, whilst Brighton are sitting pretty in seventh, on 42 points, and with two games in hand on the Blues and at least one on all the ...

Another record:Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah reaches significant landmark with Egypt goal

Image
Egypt were 2-0 winners over Malawi on Friday night and the match saw Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah reach the landmark of 50 goals for his national team The Reds star scored the opening goal after 20 minutes had passed in the match applying a first-time finish to Mohamed Hamdy’s cut-back. The winger achieved the feat across 88 caps for Egypt and it took 12 years to reach since scoring his first goal for his national team in a 3–0 win against Niger back in 2011. 50 goals for a national team is a very impressive feat and it will be one Salah is proud of. From here, the 30-year-old will have an eye on the all-time record which stands at 68 goals scored by Hossam Hassan. Salah is a man who has become known for breaking records over the last few seasons and there is no doubt that the Liverpool star will become his country’s all-time leading goalscorer. The Egyptian star has won everything there is to win with Liverpool and the next thing he would like to ...

Liverpool lead Premier League rivals in race for Chelsea star

Image
Liverpool are said to be leading the race to sign Mason Mount as the midfielder remains in discussions over a new contract with Chelsea. This is according to Football London, who also say that Mount’s appointment of his new agent Neil Fewings has come after the difficulties in coming to an agreement with Chelsea. Mount’s Chelsea contract runs out in 2024 and there has been plenty of rumours about a potential exit from Stamford Bridge, with Chelsea aware that they could possibly lose him for free next year. According to FL, Liverpool are long-time admirers of Mount, who has made 192 appearances for Chelsea and won the club’s Player of the Season award twice. Blues boss Graham Potter has recently revealed the conversations he has had with the 24-year old, saying he thinks it’s best to let the player and the club come to an agreement themselves. “ Ultimately it is between the club and Mason. I have spoken to him numerous times about his situation, football, life generally .

Liverpool could consider highly-rated alternative to Bellingham

Image
There’s little doubt that Borussia Dortmund and England star, Jude Bellingham, will be on the radar of some of European football’s major clubs this summer, but even if Liverpool were to miss out on the player, they have a highly-rated alternative they could turn to. Writing exclusive for CaughtOffside’s Substack, French football journalist, Johnathan Johnson, says that Reds fans needn’t be too unhappy if 19-year-old Bellingham decides to ply his trade somewhere other than Anfield from next season. From the club’s perspective, one alternative is likely to come in a lot cheaper than the record fee 90Min believe Dortmund would expect for their player, eclipsing the €144m they received from Barcelona for Ousmane Dembele. ‘This week’s big story came from The Athletic’s reliable David Ornstein, who reported that Liverpool are ‘unlikely’ to sign top target Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund with Real Madrid and Manchester City both ahead in the race for the Englishman...

Liverpool lead the chase for the 24-year-old, who currently yields a £50m asking price

Image
Liverpool fans have been advised to ‘keep an eye on’ Matheus Nunes ahead of the summer transfer window. The Wolves midfielder has been strongly linked with the Reds of late, with Football Insider reporting that the Anfield club lead the chase for the 24-year-old, who currently yields a £50m asking price from the Molineux outfit. James Pearce then doubled down on the links by saying in his latest mailbag for The Athletic that the Portugal international is ‘highly regarded’ by LFC and is ‘an option for the summer’. Another journalist in Ben Jacobs has now singled out Nunes as a transfer target to watch for Liverpool supporters. The CBS Sports reporter exclusively revealed in his latest briefing for CaughtOffside:  “Wolves showed last summer they were able to hang on to Ruben Neves despite interest from Arsenal. But this summer things will be different. “A bit like West Ham with Declan Rice, Wolves are pretty resigned to losing Neves. They know, with hi...

Exclusive: Fabrizio Romano responds to claims that midfielder’s transfer to Liverpool is a done deal

Image
Jose Enrique made an intriguing claim a couple of days ago about Bayern Munich midfielder Ryan Gravenberch sealing a transfer to Liverpool. The ex-Red seems to think the deal is done and that Gravenberch is going to be a Liverpool player, and he sounded very confident due to his connections. Speaking on his YouTube channel, a conversation detailed by The Boot Room, the Spaniard had this to say on Gravenberch: “This player is ours amigo, Gravenberch. Amigo, it’s the same agent as me! Team Raiola, amigo we had a meeting not long ago in London, this is our player.” Fabrizio Romano, however, has written in his exclusive CaughtOffside column about Gravenberch’s future, and doesn’t sound too convinced that this is as advanced as Enrique claims. “I’ve had Liverpool fans asking me about Jose Enrique’s surprise comments, when he seemed to ‘leak’ the fact that Ryan Gravenberch would be joining the Reds,” Romano said. Honestly I’m not aware of this deal. Bayern...

Liverpool & Man Utd handed potential £50m transfer boost but Real & Barca could have the edge

Image
Liverpool, Manchester United, Real Madrid and Barcelona may all reportedly have been handed a boost with regards to the potential transfer of Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves The Portugal international has shone in his time in the Premier League, but it now seems Wolves could reluctantly let him go this summer, with the 26-year-old expected to have a value of around £50million, according to the Daily Mirror. Neves is said to be attracting interest from the likes of Liverpool and Man Utd, but the report also explains that Real and Barca could have the edge due to Wolves’ preference to sell their star player abroad. Still, one imagines both Liverpool and United might push to win the race for Neves, who could be an important addition to both squads based on their current needs. LFC need a major rebuild in the middle of the park, with Neves looking an ideal like-for-like replacement for the ageing Thiago Alcantara, while extra bodies will also be needed as both Naby Keita and Alex ...

All change at Liverpool with three midfielders on the move this summer

Image
After a period of incredible success under Jurgen Klopp, it’s been a dismal season in 2022/23 for Liverpool and a campaign which they’ll end with no silverware. The German took the Reds to a Champions League title and a longed-for maiden Premier League crown, but the Anfield outfit have been well off the pace for much of this season. Battering Manchester United 7-0 and then following that result with a 1-0 defeat at Bournemouth neatly encapsulates why there needs to be improvements made by Klopp. To that end, it appears that the writing is already on the wall for three Liverpool midfielders. It’s an area where they’ve struggled recently, given various injury concerns and the inescapable fact that age is catching up on one or two players. The emergence of the excellent Stefan Bajcetic, and a potential move for Jude Bellingham (per Football Insider) also means that Klopp needs to trim his midfield numbers. To that end, Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will be allowed to ...

Liverpool keen on Lazio star amid midfield uncertainty

Image
Liverpool are said to be interested in Lazio’s Sergej Milinkovic-Savic as they look to rebuild their midfield department. Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and James Milner are all out of contract in the summer and are no closer to agreeing extensions and Milinkovc-Savic is said to be a strong target of Liverpool’s ahead of the summer. That’s according to CMW, who say that the out-of-contract in 2024-midfielder could be available for around £44million. The 28-year old Serbian has been previously linked with Arsenal, but those links have eased in recent months, so Liverpool could find themselves in the driving seat for a free run at the player. The man that Lazio boss Maurizio Sarri has called “one of the best midfielders in the world” has six goals and eight assists in 35 matches from central midfield for  I Biancocelesti  this season, a tally that Liverpool could certainly do with someone from their current midfield crop and for the price quoted, it co...

Liverpool and Manchester United keen on 20-year-old who will cost €10 million

Image
Liverpool and Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing the Dutch goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen. A report from HLN.BE claims that the 20-year-old goalkeeper has caught the attention of Jurgen Klopp and Erik ten Hag with his performances and two Premier League clubs could look to make a move for him at the end of the season. Anderlecht are looking to keep the player at the club for another season but they might have to cash in on him for financial reasons. Apparently, the talented young goalkeeper is likely to cost around €10 million at the end of the season. Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher has been linked with a move away from the club at the end of the season. The Irishman needs to leave in order to play regularly and Liverpool will have to replace him adequately. Verbruggen could prove to be a quality acquisition for the Reds. As far as Manchester United are concerned, Dean Henderson is likely to move on in search of regular game time and the Red Devils will...

Another big blow for Liverpool: latest on Darwin Nunez injury

Image
The injury and extent has not yet been reported, with Liverpool only confirming that the forward has withdrawn from the Uruguay squad and will instead receive treatment at the AXA Training Centre. been reported, with Liverpool only confirming that the forward has withdrawn from the Uruguay squad and will instead receive treatment at the AXA Training Centre. The 23-year-old had been carrying a shoulder injury since the away win at Newcastle a month ago, which subsequently saw him miss the 0-0 draw at Crystal Palace, but since then he has been involved against Wolves, Man United, Bournemouth and Real Madrid. He was withdrawn against Real at the Bernabeu on the hour, but Jurgen Klopp said post-match that this was a tactical move and not injury related.
